ABV = Alcohol By Volume

IBU = International Bitterness Units according to the Tinseth formula. The higher this number, the more bitter the beer.

SRM = Color of the beer according to the Standard Reference Method. Numbers between 1 and 8 are straw to golden in color, 9 through 17 amber to light brown, 18 though 30 medium to dark brown, and higher than 30 approaching black. Actual results will vary slightly depending on your brewing technique.

Ingredient listings are for the all-grain version. For the extract version, malt extract is substituted for the base malts.

Opaque, cloudy, and occasionally turbid in appearance, NEIPA is most often characterized by restrained bitterness, intense aromatics, and “juicy” hop character.

Liquid Gold Helles

More malty and less hop-forward than a German Pils, this lager recipe has won multiple awards. Requires fermentation around 50F and extended cold conditioning.

Nymphenburg Dunkel

(David) Tempelhof Berliner Weisse

A textbook German Berliner Weisse produced using the kettle souring method, which produces fast & reliable acidity without infecting your cold-side equipment with bacteria.

Traditional Gose

A traditional German Gose, a salty sour beer that is quickly taking the craft beer world by storm. Produced using the kettle souring method.

Porters and Stouts

 

Baby Got Black (Foreign Extra Stout)

A VERY dark, strong, roasty stout with lots of dark chocolate character.

Black N’ Dry (Irish Dry Stout)

A simple, textbook dry stout recipe. Slightly tart and not as roasty as many commercial examples.

Fat Man Porter (English Porter)

Probably our most popular recipe. Rich & chocolaty with deep toffee undertones.

4.9% ABV, 22 IBU, 33 SRM

 

Hoggetowne’s Oatmeal Sout

A thick, slightly sweet, mildly roasty stout with a big, creamy body from the oats.

A thick, sweet, roasty, and smooth stout with prominent milk chocolate notes.

Puma Man (American Porter)

Drier and slightly more roasty than the Fat Man Porter.
